History
Previously Duferco Farrell Corp (DFC), the name officially changed to NLMK-Pennsylvania in September, 2011.
Since the original start up under DFC, the Pickle Line has been upgraded to include a new entry end accumulator, and new edge trimmer / scrap chopper, and a new entry end passline. The line is also equipped with electrostatic oiling technology that can apply a controlled coating of rust-preventative oil inhibitor that protects the as-pickled surface during shipment.
Ebner Batch Annealing Furnaces were installed in 2001/2002. There are a total of 41 bases and 22 furnaces equipped with automated L2 controls onsite.
Three, four high temper rolling mills have been upgraded over the years as well. The No. 35 Mill has been upgraded twice since its start-up in December 2004. Its appointments include a fully-automated L2 control system, hydraulic automated gauge control, extension-control through laser velocimetry, and a closed-loop shape system for dynamic adjustment to sheet flatness. No. 28 Mill has also been upgraded to include new L1 / L2 automation control systems. Both sheet temper mills are equipped with electrostatic oiling capabilities for controlled application of rust-preventative oil to the as-tempered product.
