NLMK Pennsylvania is a customer driven company dedicated to customer satisfaction which is accomplished through offering a diverse carbon steel product mix, a broad production capability and a vast knowledge and experience base within our sales, technical and operational teams.

NLMK Pennsylvania promotes working individually with customers to develop new products and improve upon existing ones. Unlike the big mills who promote ordering from standard offerings, NLMK welcomes the opportunity to ‘design new things’, partnering with our customers. With synergies created through affiliation with the melt shop in Portage, it is possible to develop new or modified chemistries with specific chemical requirements designed to meet customer product needs. Our product offering can be considered more than just a catalog look-up.

Our unique business model is designed to align individual customer requirements with available inventory on the ground. It works much like an Internet search engine. The customer benefits realized from this model are; 1) an order can be as small as the product of a single slab / coil, and 2) orders can be matched to exact chemistry requirements, element for element, through use of a high-tech, automated inventory matching process leading to high levels of consistency in the final product due to precise chemistry application order to order.

Since NLMK Pennsylvania procures all raw materials as slabs or coils from other supplying mills, a very detailed Technical Protocol process is in place with each substrate supplier to ensure all details of raw material production and quality are determined in advance of production. The protocols guarantee that a high level of raw material product consistency is established between suppliers and the key product quality parameters are tested, audited and certified by the suppliers. NLMK also audits the incoming raw material substrate for compliance to the protocols.
